PTA
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a group of parents/carers who volunteer their own time to help organise activities to bring the school community together and to raise funds for the school.
We are a registered charity (charity number:1113295) and we have a committee that is elected at the AGM meeting every new school year. We also have some members who come to meetings and help at events but do not wish to have an elected role. Meetings are held regularly (usually one every half term) which all parents, carers and staff are welcome to attend.
Committee Members
Co-Chair – Aimee Hawkins
Co-Chair - Sarah McNally
Treasurer – Isabelle Whitelocks
Secretary – Angie Fifield-Smith
What do we Fundraise for?
Every year we provide £5 per child place to subsidise school trips and parents/cares are asked to make a voluntary contribution to cover the remainder of the cost.
We work with the school (including the School Council) to support initiatives as required and recently we have fundraised for:
- the trim trail and astro turn in the Friendship Garden
- iPads, laptops and 'smart' boards for classrooms
- the purchase of extra learning resources for each classroom, such as reading books and equipment
We are currently supporting the school with the purchase of a new PA sound system and a further bank of laptops.
How do we Fundraise?
We look at initiatives that are at no extra cost to parents as well as other fundraising events like discos, movie nights and summer/Christmas fairs. We do hope that events are as much about bringing the children/families together and providing enjoyment as well as fundraising.
